Hey, finally this site is up and all that crap. Pretty happy about this. Don't know if this is supposed to be in this section, but since I'm a noob and all..

Anyway to the point, there is this problem I started having since a few weeks ago, and I have literally have no idea what the crap is happening.

Okay the equipment I have right now:
2x vestax pdx 2000 mk2
1x American Audio QD-5 mk2

The problem:

For each channel, there is a toggle that switches from Aux to line (basically two sources). I believe you all know this.

My right channel is fine but the left channel is the problem

On the left channel, the line input is fine. But when I switch it to the Aux, the volume maxes out/redlines even though the volume fader is only like/less than 1/5 from the bottom. Basically, it is playing waaaaaayy too loud compared to the volume it is supposed to play in that fader position. (This happens when I connect my turntables to the Aux input)

Also, if I connect the Aux to an ipod, or any other source, the speakers start to make these horrible windy noises and generally just sounds fu*ked up.

To summarise:

When I connect my turntables to the Aux input, it plays waaaay too loud. Redlines. Techno house party loud.
When I connect my ipod to the Aux input, it makes a horrible noise. Like some storm in the desert.

I searched for this problem, but I think this is to specific because I couldn't find anything that relates to this problem.
What do?

Will provide pictures upon request. Would seriously appreciate the help.
Oh yea. And yes, I have checked out everything.

Turntables go into phono, and the switches should be on phone, not aux. Your iPod should go in line.

Turntables go into phono, and the switches should be on phone, not aux. Your iPod should go in line.

Well that doesn't necessarily solve the problem I am having. And the mixer is marked as (Phono/aux)switch(line)

And at the moment, the turntables are in fact in the phono input.

And the switches by the inputs are set to phono, not aux? Not the ones on the face of the mixer, the ones on the back.

How are your gains set?

Oh wow, I thank you so much, I have fixed with your help. There was a switch on the back of the mixer like you said. Oh man, I feel so new and shit.
Its all goods now, no such problems exist anymore so once again, thank you.
