I understand by a buddy of mine that the DJM 900 is not a 'scratch' mixer. I've used my buddies mixer to perfect the crab scratch, and have tried it on my DJM 900 with the result being not as sharp. Is there a good way to set my faders pm the DJM 900 for crab scratching?

if your referring to the cut of the crossfader, there's really no other way to get a sharper cut on the crossfader without getting an aftermarket crossfader. at least im not aware of any mods you can do?
possibly a innofader?

Do you think A-Trak is able to get the crab's down well without any adjustment to the fader on the DJM mixers?
I'm on the same boat as you. I want my crabs to come out nicely, but it was much easier on my old Rane which had a modified crossfader

All you can really do is set the xfader to its sharpest curve and learn to master the crab on it. The 800/900 probably have the same amount of cut in/out. Its not going to be as sharp as other 2ch scratch mixers but it should do the job.
