How in the hell do you do that? Is the guy that owns that mixer wearing sandpaper gloves when he mixes? Even the mic level knobs have wear around them... Who goes to town on the mic level knob?

Some of that more looks like fire damage... what the hell.

DJNR

"Let me just sit my cigarette on here..."

But in all honesty, if all the damage is just cosmetic to the faceplate, couldn't you just get a new one?

That's A Club Mixer. Very Easy To Tell. Seems Some Of Y'all Haven't Seen Toe Up Club Gear.

I Brought Some 1200 In that Same Condition For $200

All That Needs Is A faceplate.

That's from Moisture, Djing, Fog, And Drinks Being on it and around it. and not being covered up.

^ very true. I've seen a few DJMs with fading paint, just not as crazy as this.

its a club mixer? theres some rust.

^^ this, ive seen many mixers like this in clubs, and 1200's, it happens less these days since everything is replaced much more often, but this is far from rare.

According to someone on Facebook chances are high that it is due to hand lotion.

If you look closely you'll see the paint is fine in that area. That's a massive amount of dust! hah :)

I've seen plenty of old mixers beat up like this but nothing as new as an 800

mantis
03-06-2012, 10:42 AM
yeah every weekend i play on a 600 like this but its the first 800 i see in this condition. this isnt that bad tho. least all the knobs and buttons are still there. Most club mixers i play on miss a few knobs. ive become pretty good at gripping a knobless eq thingy

what bothers me is that i get how you get the edges of a fader to look like that but how the hell did they manage to do this with the damn EFX button?!?!

also lol @ the sticker next to the VU saying "master peak" :P

wear like that doesnt come from miss treating to be fair, no amount of keeping it clean would prevent that

I seriously imagine this thing was kept near a saltwater beach or something. Only logical explanation. otherwise this might have been 'DJ Sandpaper''s mixer.

My friends DJM800 is fairly new and the paint is already faded on the faders... Paint on these mixers seems for fade for no reason. I hope they fixed that with the DJM900 I don't want my mixer to look 10 years old when I bought it just a few months ago

The funny thing is that all fader caps are still there... usually the problem with these mixers is the fader caps gone missing or stolen haha
