There's one in the Mobile section, but…well…we need one here too.
No holds barred, no budget limit. Just dreams.
Go.
Mine:
2 CDJ-2000 (whatever the new version is that's coming out soon)
2 SL-1200m5g
E&S DJR-400 (modded with cue/master blend for HP signal and an extra unity gain line level input)
Electron Octatrack
Westone ES5
And for hip hop, I'd just replace the mixer with an 04proIV.

I have my dream set up. I mean it could be better, like the location and what not. Right now I got more than I know what to do with.
I got serato, the bridge, MPD 18, oxygen 49, apc-40, and TTM57 mixer. All I want is to get a phat house on the beach in tahoe. Board and spin in the summer and winter.

Um shit...
2 Technics 1200-M5G (while realistically will sell my ttx's and end up with some mk5's)
Rane TTM-62 (And again will end up with the ttm-61 lol)
APC40 and Ableton
Some MPC's
Hardware synths (not very knowledgeable on them, but im stuck in the past)
More and more vinyl, I'm at about 600-700 and I want a full wall of that black waxy shit!
And I'm sure I could think of more, but I'm pretty easy to please

Damn, the possibilities are endless. I'd probably have 3 different setups.
1. 4xCDJ 2000s (the new one getting released) and a DB4 (or a 900 nexus...hmmm)
2. A pair of 1200s and a rane 68
3. Kontrol s4 and a kontrol f1 maybe with one or two of the behringer controllers thrown in for good measure
GAS

Simple and easy.
Two Technics 1210 M5Gs
Rane Sixty-two
Top-of-the-line 17" MacBook Pro w/anti glare matte screen.

Whatever you want.
Top-of-the-line 17" MacBook Pro w/anti glare matte screen.
If we're going that way, I'd just like to say that I want a 12" non-widescreen Macbook Pro with a matte display, no optical drive, both FW400 and FW800 ports, 2 Thunderbolt ports, one USB port, and a headphone jack with a converter designed by Apogee. I wouldn't use it for DJing, but man that would be a sweet computer. 13" is too big to carry, and this wide-screen kick is really starting to piss me off. So much wasted screen real-estate.

more studio based for me... but,
2 x CDJ2000 (or new version)
4 x Technics 1210mk5 g
1 x DJM1000
Studio PC, operating quad-core i7 3.5GB processor, 2TB HDD & 32GB ram - with Ableton Live Suite & Pro Tools
Izotope and CLA mastering suits
Roland Fantom G8
Novation UltraNova modelling synth
MPC5000
Genelec 1038B studio monitors
That would do it. :)
So far from that lot, I've got 2 Technics 1210's :P

3 Technics SL 1210mk5's ( I don't like the 5gs) with Ortofon Nightclub S carts ( I need spherical carts)
Vestax PMC-CX (a DJM 1000 would do as well) master Isolator is important
an EFX 1000
2 CDJ 1000mk3s (still best cd players imo)
headphones: a whole collection please. MDRV6, V9, HD 25, RP-DJ1210, etc etc
speakers: I'm happy with my current speakers
Jesus. Where is that?
That's the old Ministry Of Sound booth.
As for me, I'm quite happy with what I've got. Maybe add a sub and a bigger room would be nice. And exchange SL1 for SL3.
And maybe get a Formula Sound FF-4000...

1x DJM2000
1x DB4 (So i can have an option)

2x Genelec Monitors
1x Mac high end spec
2x KRK VXT4's for reference

the thing is, Line arrays are designed to give everyone in the audience the same sound quality so more tickets can be sold. They are very, very practical, compact and are powerful though. It's better to give everyone mediocre sound then giving the people in the middle good sound, that's the line array approach to sound quality. With non-line array systems you'll find that sound quality is better, but there's more of a sweet spot.
Mind you, it's not that a good line array sounds bad, in fact the other advantages more than outweigh getting a better sounding non line array system.

I am pretty content. Maybe larger studio space and better and larger monitors with a nice sub. Oh and one of those i7 macbook pro's 17" that run about 4500USD. Ableton Suite would be nice to and The Bridge seems fun. I have an APC20 but would like a 40 for Traktor mapping. Which I am working on some mutant mapping right now for TP2, but that is a whole new thread.

add in a 24/7 dedicated hot chick to carry and set up / tear down my equipment and im set.
I enjoy the bigger screen of a 15" laptop but idk how you guys can be ok carrying around a 17" laptop
i hate laptops period as soon as i get a Mac Pro this 13" MBP will be strictly for gigging

Line arrays are actually used because there's a larger crowd and typical 2 or 3-way front loaded boxes don't have throw distance required. If processed correctly they can and normally do sound a lot better than standard speaker setups. The downside of line array systems that are flown is that you need licensed riggers, motors, engineers and all to actually plan the layout and get the arrays up.

What's an ultrabook?
They're some of the new Windows based laptops to compete with the MacBook Air. Super thin, no CD drive, SSD's.

Fancy schmancy.
'tis nice, but been reading that they should be coming down in price in the next few months. We shall see. Till then, my MPB will suffice for spinning at home.
TBH, I'm okay with a MBP. I feel like that's even TOO thin...

I want either the 42" see through touch screen LCD traktor setup, or 4 CDJ-2000s and whatever the best sounding, most intuitive mixer is. If not something like a Urei or a Bozak, I'd love the opposite--Like a super digital mixer that gave me DAW-like effects on the fly, like a really solid and big touch screen EQ.
I'm a simple guy :P I just need some decks and good volume control.

why CDJ-900s when I said no holds barred, no budget? Surely under those circumstances you have reason to choose them over the 2000…I'm just curious what they are.
Why the Micro as opposed to the full Maschine…the Mikro is a joke in my eyes.
Why the Micro to control Traktor at all? I've done it…great when it was the only piece of gear I brought to my GF's house 75 miles away and wanted to spin on a whim…but I can't imagine choosing it. But I'm also about the most anti-controller DJTT member and former TPro user, so I might be missing something.
your "deep house" setup is gorgeous. I was really tempted to list a 3rd turntable just for that except that it would mean using a different mixer and the E&S is just so gorgeous it's worth some sacrifices…I'd like it better if it were all digital though…but I'm weird…I think all-digital sounds better
I'm a simple guy :P I just need some decks and good volume control.
Having done vinyl, CDJs, Ableton, Traktor, and SSL…I agree with you. My best mix to date was recorded without even volume controls.
Really…I just need to be better at beat matching (so my ears rival Ableton) and I could do with records, decks, and mute buttons.
not sure why so few of you CDJ-2000 desirers want 3rd and 4th decks.
They're awesome. Even if I'm just using iPods at a random pick-up party in some guy's kitchen, I think best with 3 iPods instead of 2. The only reason mine had 2 TTs and 2 CDJs was that the groove box is the 3rd deck in both cases. And I think a groove box functions as a 3rd deck better.
If those didn't exist, I'd want 3 of each.
2x Technics 1200 MK4
Allen & Heath Xone V6
Jadis Defy 7 amp
Pretty.
Why the mk4 when the mk5 and m5g exist? Just exclusivity and the fact that most people don't know they existed?
Nice mixer
Why Jadis? I'm not a PA genius by any means, but I think no-holds-barred, I'd either go with Bob Carver or Bryston…
not sure why so few of you CDJ-2000 desirers want 3rd and 4th decks.
My reason is simple.. This is a dream setup and 3 decks could be fun even though i am a traditional 2 deck DJ.
As for my reason behind 3 Techs is because i enjoy messing around with 3 decks from time to time. We can all dream about it huh? :)
I also think i would change my Techs from MK5G's to MK2's simply because i have been using MK2's for over 10 years and after playing around with MK5's i still prefer my MK2's.. I'm a strange child. :P

I'd just upgrade my CDJs to the new ones. And get a nice big desk with stands to mount everything on.
And re. 3rd and 4th decks, since money's no object I'd probably have a 3rd CDJ and get an SL-4 in place of my SL-2. I wouldn't use it that much though, just for fun really.

I gotta get on that groove box! The reason for the CDJ-900 is slip cue. I have no idea what it is or does. I just know it's really popular.
