great tutorial, I don't normally do much on the interior of the 1200 b/c it will have components covering it. If the old paint is in decent shape I just block it with 300 grit sandpaper and use spot putty as needed. Most my time is involved in the wet-sanding and buffing portion of the job...I also like to sand down the primer to ~1000 grit so I don't have as much correcting to do, which is tricky b/c if you are not careful it can cause runs.
I also hate paint stripper b/c it just causes a mess and smells. You can purchase dremel attachments to sand the interior/45 adapter space if needed. I block sand most of the shell. The paint on the inside of the table is normally fine so you can also just scuff up with an sos pad so it takes the paint... I can go on for days about little tricks BUT the easiest way to paint a 1200 is to find a local shop....U can get them powder-coated or painted for about $100/each depending on the paint you choose and you don't have to worry about all the steps...
with the body being aluminum, it is very easy to mess it up and cause more body work to deck
